BUSINESS
CENTER IN GUNESLI - Istanbul
In the beginning of 1998 we were asked to prepare a business center,
which can be leased to different tenants, for a site on the road
to Atatürk International Airport and located at the south
of Sabah Media Center. The land was 11,000 m2 and there was a
height restriction of 30 meters since the area is in the airport
zone. The design was prepared in collaborating with Alain Didinal
Associates from London.
We designed two reverse and drop
shape, 8 storey office blocks, connected to each other by a 3
to 4 storey entrance hall, covered with a semi-transparent roof,
forming an atrium under it. Main entrances are from the both elevations
of the atrium hall, across the elipsoid void and over-looking
the employee cafeteria. Entrances are connected to each other
by a bridge, flying over the void before the security control
points.
Office buildings has a center
core configuration, allowing for flexible tanent arrangements
and floors are setting back, starting from the fourth level. At
the basement floors, the building abuts the property lines and
below ground program includes; 400 parking spaces, employee cafeteria,
service and technical rooms. Both buildings has a penthouse on
the roof level and the north one has designed as an heliport.
