REHABILITATION CENTER FOR CHILDREN IN
ALMATY - Kazakhstan
At the end of 1993, Bobek Foundation from Almaty announced a bid
for the construction of a rehabilitation center for the children
of Kazakhstan and the contract type was design and build. Fintraco
Construction Company participated the bid with our design and
became the successful bidder. The land was a corner plot located
next to a forest at the east, with a beautiful mountain view at
the south direction and the total area was 22 hectars.
Children between the ages 5 to 14 will be accepted
to the center and 5 to 8 can accommodate in the hospital with
a parent if they want. For the parents of elder groups a hotel
has been designed as a separate building next to the main entrance
of the area. During the preliminary design of the bidding stage,
Dr. Sururi Özkiliç from Or-Nö-Ram consulted our
project. The design has been developed in 6 different building
groups and the major program elements includes:
- 216 bed inpatient rooms
- Physiotherapy and hydrotherapy facilities
- Diagnostic department
- Methodology center
- Indoor swimming pool and multy purpose

- Art and music classrooms
- Retaurant, cafeteria and cinema
- Indoor playing areas
- 40 bed parents hotel
- Outdoor sports facilities
- Manager villas and staff apartments
- Technical buildings and warehouses
